Reeses Peanut Team

I confess I am a “dog person”, so expect my best friend, Murphy, to be referenced in some of my postings (see the “Dog Tails’ tag cloud).

Dogs have been a part of my life ALL my life.

I shared my life with three Dobermans over the course Rommel and Brandyof 17 years, and I love Brutusthat breed. But their health problems and short lives hurt so much when I lost them.

That’s when I decided to get a smaller, hopefully longer-lived, breed.

THE MURPH, as he is affectionately referred to, is a typical, comical wiener dog who thinks he is much larger and far more ferocious than he really is.

Sad Eyes - copyrightedIn reality, he’s a very spoiled miniature long-haired dachshund with a big dog attitude who takes himself very seriously.

Copyrighted Murphy car seatWhen possible, he sometimes rides shotgun in the WEENR-mobile on real estate errands … safely strapped into his car seat so he can watch the world go by.

When The Murph was a little guy, I took some funny photos of him in various holiday costumes. I put together a photo video of these photos. Click on his OSU costume to see the photo show on YouTube®

I also took a video of him watching his favorite TV show … America’s Funniest Videos. Lots of barking, jumping and flying off his ramp. My daughter made the ramp for him when he was tiny and its purpose was to protect his doxie back. Yeah, right! Who knew he would use it as a launching pad!!! Click on the image below to watch the “flying dachshund” on YouTube®.

  2. When I die and get reincarnated, I want to come back as your dog.
    kk :)

  3. Hah-hah, Kristal! Well, you see, my kids are grown so I’ve got to spoil something! ;-)

  4. Well Murphy is one lucky Pooch!

  5. Hello from Cleveland Elaine! Your baby is adorable! I recently added a new addition to my house, a Silky Terrier. It’s my first dog and I’ve had him for 6 months now. I’m absolutely in love. The photo of him with the glasses is awesome!

  6. Cecilia: Oh-h … your 1st dog! Aren’t you in for a treat! Got my first dog when I was 3. Murphy is now my 8th.

As I recall, a Silky is similar to a Yorkie, right?

  7. Hi Elaine,
The boy too thinks he is much larger and feroucious dog than what he is, here in Florida we have lizards and he can wait to chase them around.
    Have a great day!!

  8. Manny, doxies definitely have ‘little man syndrome’. Does The Boy actually catch the lizards … or just chase them?
