ODE releases School District Report Cards

August 20, 2008 · 2 Comments

The Ohio Department of Education has just released the Report Cards for all the schools in Ohio. To see all the details of how your district and the schools within the district performed, follow the link. Once at the ODE web site, click on the Report Card Data link, located toward the right side a little below half way down the page.

If you click on the Guide for Ohio’s Report Card System, you can view a pdf file that explains the rating system (12 pgs).

Here are the 2007-2008 ratings for the school districts in the suburbs I typically mention in my blog:

  • Excellent with Distinction: Bexley, Dublin, Hilliard, New Albany, Olentangy, Upper Arlington
  • Excellent: Big Walnut, Fairbanks, North Union, Westerville, Worthington
  • Effective:  Buckeye Valley, Delaware, Gahanna-Jeff, Marysville
  • Continuous Improvement:  Columbus
  • Academic Watch:
  • Academic Emergency:

The Aug. 20 edition of the Hilliard Northwest News headline reports that the Hilliard school district grade was recently bumped up to “excellent with distinction” for the 2007-08 school year by the ODE. I would image the ODE web site would be updated soon to reflect this change.

The report card data that the ODE is showing on their site is for 2006-2007, so it seems to be year-old news. That’s good news if Hilliard improved that much.
