Debi, it’s hard volunteering for a shelter … just so sad. It was all I could do to not take a whole bunch of dogs home. I don’t know how the people do it who actually work there full-time.

Thanks for the timely article. As someone who worked with a local shelter, I can, sadly, echo your comments. People can be very cruel and coldhearted when it comes to their animals. Some of the things I’ve seen leave me with bad dreams still.
Keep up the good work..you’re a dear person who cares deeply for animals.

The story mentioned that some of the owners apparently think that people working for the lender or sheriff’s office will be entering the home and thus, will rescue the animal. But as we know, that may not happen for weeks as the paperwork is processed. In the meantime, the pet is dying an agonizing death.

Yes Elaine this made me so sad when I heard about it. I have a story from two years ago when people left and left their poor dog inside the home when they vanished. This was not a happy ending. :0(
