Oh, to be a duck and able to float on the Olentangy River

Copyrighted Olentangy River SummerI think the Olentangy River is so-o-o pretty.

I’m not the only one … since it’s been designated as a Scenic River. The river takes many different forms depending on what part is being viewed or how much it has just rained. It’s pretty in the spring when wild flowering trees are blooming. It’s pretty during the summer when the trees grow their lush leaves. It’s extrodinary in the fall when nature paints the landscape. And it can be surreal during the winter when there is snow or ice.

I thought the above photo was an interesting view. I was sitting in traffic – AGAIN – on the Powell Rd bridge trying to get through the intersection at Olentangy River Rd.

Copyrighted Olentangy River winterHere’s a winter view that I took just south of the same spot, in Highbanks Metro Park. See how different the river looks from this view than the view above.

That’s what it so great about this river – it always looks different a few yards away.If you would like to read more about this river, here are some links you might enjoy.
